About the Volunteer Center

The Jackson County Volunteer Center engages in creative actions to serve the community by mobilizing and matching volunteers with service opportunities. The Volunteer Center works with many nonprofit groups that need volunteers.  The Volunteer Center also provides support to agencies and recognition to volunteers through the following services:

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Refferal:  The Volunteer Center recruits and refers volunteers to human service, governmental, educational and cultural organizations in the Jackson County area.  Once the referral is made, the Volunteer Center continues to serve as a resource for the volunteer.
  • Campus Community Connection:  This program facilitates the recruitment and placement of college students as volunteers.
  • Community Education:  Volunteer Center staff and volunteers are available to speak to clubs, organizations, bussinesses, schools and churches about volunteerism and volunteer opportunities in the area.
"The Community Volunteer Center enriches peoples' lives through helping hands."
