Agency description: Head Start has three centers, one located in Blue Ridge, one in Fairview, and another in Southwestern Child Development. Through home visits, Head Start provides the community and families with education, health and nutrition information, several family services, and assistance to those with disabilities. There are several opportunities for volunteers to choose from. Head Start can always use volunteers to assist in the classroom, field trips, outside maintenance, inside maintenance, staff training, special activities like sewing “dress up” clothes, etc. Any participation will be useful. Time commitment: The volunteer can decide how much time will be donated. Skills, experiences, and special requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. |
