(The Nantahala AIDS Consortium) works with six Western North Carolina county
health departments: Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Jackson, Macon, Swain, and
the Qualla Boundary in NC. The main office is in the Jackson County
Health Department located in the Community Services Building in Sylva.
Agency description:
NAC
supplies outpatient health and support services to persons living with
HIV/AIDS and their care givers. NAC provides referrals for physical,
mental health, and dental needs and obtains transportation, legal assistance,
personal and financial counseling, support groups, emergency housing assistance,
and a prescription drug program for persons affected by the disease.
It also furnishes speakers for educational programs.

Please volunteer as much time as desired.
Skills, experiences,
and special requirements: If working with patients, a confidentiality
form is required.
