Location:
Take exit 85 off of Hwy 74 West or East. The hospital is one half
mile on the right. Hospice is located just past the hospital in the
A&P Plaza.
Agency description:
Hospice of Harris Regional Hospital provides terminally ill patients and
their families with physical, emotional, social, and spiritual care.
Volunteers give respite or companionship to parents and their families,
sometimes assisting with bereavement. They may also complete errands
and help with clerical tasks, medical supplies, and fundraising.
Training required:
The
volunteer coordinator trains family, patients, and bereavement volunteers
for a minimum of twelve hours. Other tasks may require special instructions
or on-the-job training.
